Brainwaves Quiz

Brainwaves Quiz

We are taught that the root of all thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is the communication between neurons. Neurons are also known as nerve cells; they are the fundamental units that send and receive signals which enable us to move, think, feel, and form memories. Neuron communication is represented by synchronized electrical pulses. These pulses produce what are called brainwaves and can be measured using an EEG (Electroencephalogram) test which records this electrical activity with measurements in hertz, cycles per second by attaching sensors to the scalp.

There are 5 types of measurable brainwaves, each with its own characteristics listed here from highest to lowest frequency (hz, or cycles per second): Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta. Play with the quiz below to learn about these 5 types.
